Dane Harris has been interested in art and photography all his life. At Cornell College, Dane studied the art and the art history of photography. To further his understanding of the technical aspects of photography, Dane studied at the Hallmark Institute of Photography, ending the year with a portrait and wedding emphasis. After graduating, Dane uses his eye for art and his technical knowledge to capture the moments that count, in a magical, yet sophisticated way.
His photography from an artist's perspective has always been about capturing the mood of the environment, with an added bit of serendipity and experimental techniques. Danes first gallery showing included his own experimental black and white film printing, displayed as one large mural, receiving the highest marks in the show. Dane has always had a love for art and art history; however, the art of photography is where he has always excelled.
On the other hand, Dane uses his training at Hallmark Institute of Photography to provide expert technique with exposure, and his continuing study of light. While at Hallmark, Dane has found love for portraiture, and event photography.
“I believe you must fully learn the technical aspects of exposure, posing, and light to let them go. Only by this way can you truly provide sophistication, exceptional photography, and art while capturing the moments where memories are created.”
By combining these two elements of photography, Dane provides a quality image unseen in many wedding photographers. Dane believes the best things in life are visual and his art is putting them into print.
